The New Year

Yes my friends I realize that we are already five days into this glorious year, but I can just tell that it's going to be a good one.

This year is going to be full of big changes for Grant and I. We have already moved to Oklahoma, I'm deciding what to do with the rest of my life, we're no longer irresponsible college students: we are officially growing up!

I decided to make the most of this new start and make some serious new years resolutions. I'm going to be better person this year. Just watch me.

A friend of mine split her goals into four categories, and it was inspiring. Mine are below.

body:

half marathon April 10
incorporate yoga into more of my workouts
no sweets

mind:
read more worthwhile books (I'm always open to suggestions)

spirit:
more prayer in my life. there is always room.
scripture study or religious book daily

life:
no raising my voice in anger
don't limit myself because of fear-do things that make me scared.
learn to be a better cook

My dear friend Kristen Moore gave me the sweetest Christmas gift this year. Part of it was a journal with this quote written in it:

"The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page."
-St. Augustine

Thank you Kristen, those are certainly good words to live by! Grant and I are starting the year off right with a trip to Brazil!!! We leave January 21 and we couldn't be more excited!! I anyone has any suggestions on things we just cannot miss please let me know.

Here's to a new year!

Yes! I made the blog! I am so proud right now. And here are my thoughts about your resolutions:
Half marathon is awesome! But train right because mine ruined my knees and I cry about it almost daily. And HELLOOOOO God made sugar for a reason. I don't support the "no sweets" resolution... Read "In Defense of Food" by Michael Pollan. You will like it. You already are a good cook! Have fun and make crazy stuff. I miss you :( Please come back and visit soon!!! LOVE YOU!!!!
